Ordnance Survey of Northern Ireland (OSNI), a directorate of Land & Property Services (LPS) within The Department of Finance (DoF), is responsible for mapping in Northern Ireland.

Spatial NI is a service provided by OSNI.

OSNI is committed to protecting your privacy when you use our services. This privacy notice explains how Spatial NI uses information about you and the ways in which we will protect your privacy.

This privacy notice relates to our public website and the mapping application component of our platform and was drafted with brevity and clarity in mind. When a customer supplies datasets and/or metadata to Spatial NI, they will have control over what groups, e.g. government or public users, can see their metadata when accessing Spatial NI services.

Why we collect personal information

The lawful basis for processing the personal information that is collected from customers who make use of Spatial NI services is Article6(1)(e) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR); processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller.
